DIFA Donates

On February 25th, Willy Stevenson and the Do It For Aaron (DIFA) committee donated $3,000 to the The Brockville and Area Food Bank and then got busy sorting items – a great way to spend a Saturday morning! The DIFA committee has started distributing the $18,000 raised during last July’s DIFA Festival. The dates for the 2017 DIFA Festival are July 21st & 22nd

“Several local children will have the opportunity to participate in their choice of recreational activities – all in the memory of a local boy who died in 2013.

Willie and Kelly Stevenson, parents of the late Aaron Stevenson who at the age of 16 was struck and killed by a vehicle on County Road 2 on September 1, 2013, raised over $33,000 at a music festival in their son’s honour last year. They have made it their mission to help local youth in memory of their son.

On Thursday, the couple donated $7,000 to Making Play Possible at the Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville (CMHLG), a program that gives children and youth the chance to become involved in recreational activities, regardless of the social or economic barriers they face.”
